New Stamp duty Land tax announced
The Government has now announced new Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) rates, which means that home buyers may (subject to eligibility) be able to save thousands of pounds.
For example, a first-time buyer purchasing a property for £500,000. The SDLT previously payable would be £10,000. Under the new SDLT system, the first-time buyer (subject to eligibility) will need to pay £3750. This means that the first-time buyer in this instance has the potential to save £6250.
